More about the lab and the project

Since 2010, circusnext platform has been setting up artistic labs in various contexts with the aim of supporting emerging authors in their creative process. This year, from August 23 to September 2, such a laboratory with the participation of 8 artists from different countries was taking place at Rīgas Cirks.

The lab takes place under the benevolent gaze of the mentor who offers participants the opportunity to work collectively on their own creative projects in an intercultural context of exchange and cooperation. It is also an opportunity to prepare the authors to better communicate their project, to clarify their artistic intentions.

The lab at the Rīgas cirks is led by mentor artist Rafael de Paula Guimarães. It includes participants selected by the national juries of the circusnext platform to advance to the semifinals of the circusnext competition.
