ACCESSIBILITY

Riga Circus welcomes everyone to its performances. Here you will find information about the physical accessibility of the Riga Circus building and the accessibility support that is permanently available for people with disabilities. Accessibility information for each individual performance (for example, sign language interpretation, sensory information or an Easy Read description) is provided on the respective performance page in the calendar section.

Physical accessibility

  • Entrance. Through the red gates at Merķeļa iela 4.
  • Ground floor. The arena and the Horse Stable are wheelchair accessible.
  • Balcony level is not wheelchair accessible.
  • Nearest accessible parking space. See the Rīgas satiksme interactive parking map.
  • Public transport. To find the nearest accessible public transport stop, see the Rīgas satiksme public transport map.
  • Seating. Wheelchair spaces and companion seats are not assigned to specific numbered seats — upon arrival, visitors can choose the most convenient available places within their ticket zone.
  • Accessible toilets. Two accessible toilets are available — one in the Info Room and one in the Horse Stable. Please follow the signs.
  • Baby changing tables. Available in the women’s toilet, men’s toilet and the toilet in the Info Room.

Hearing support

  • Hearing loop. Available in the arena for all performances. The equipment can be collected at the entrance or cloakroom.
  • Sign language interpretation. Available for selected events. As this varies from event to event, please check the respective performance page in the calendar section or contact us at cirks@cirks.lv.
  • Performances without spoken text. Some performances have no dialogue or spoken text and can therefore also be experienced by Deaf and hard-of-hearing audiences. This is indicated on the respective performance page.
  • Subtitles. Available for selected events. This is indicated on the respective performance page.

Support for people with cognitive and intellectual disabilities

  • Easy Read. Easy Read information about a performance is available on the respective performance page in the calendar section.
  • Suitability for people with intellectual and psychosocial disabilities. This is indicated on the respective performance page.
  • Sensory information and content warnings. These are indicated on the respective performance page.

Staff

  • Riga Circus hospitality staff are trained to assist visitors with different disabilities and access needs.

Tickets

  • When purchasing tickets through bezrindas.lv, discounted tickets are available for people with disabilities, as well as a free ticket for a companion.

Each performance may have different accessibility features.

For example, there may be sign language interpretation, sensory information or an Easy Read description.

Getting to Riga Circus and around the building

The entrance to Riga Circus is through the red gates.

The address is Merķeļa iela 4, Riga.

The ground floor is wheelchair accessible.

A hearing loop is available in the arena for all performances.

A hearing loop is a system that helps people who use hearing aids to hear more clearly.

You can collect the equipment at the entrance or cloakroom.

Some performances have sign language interpretation.

Some performances have no spoken words.

These performances can also be understood by people who are Deaf or hard of hearing. This will be indicated on the performance page.

Some performances have subtitles.

Subtitles are words on a screen that show what people are saying. This will be indicated on the performance page.

Support for people who find it difficult to understand information

Some performances have an Easy Read description. You can find it on the respective performance page.

Each performance page will also say whether the performance is suitable for people with intellectual and psychosocial disabilities.

An intellectual or psychosocial disability can mean that a person may find it more difficult to understand information or manage their emotions.

Each performance page will also say if the performance includes loud sounds or bright lights.

It will also say if the content of the performance may be difficult for some people, for example, if something in the performance may be frightening.

Riga Circus staff are trained to support visitors with different disabilities and access needs.
