RE RĪGA!: MURMUYO “FISURA”

The audience arrives. The set is in place. But something is not quite right – there are no actors, no clear beginning and no reliable plan.

Then Murmuyo appears – a street clowning character created in Chile more than fifteen years ago. With mime, movement and a wildly playful imagination, he transforms the city into his stage. Fisura begins the moment it becomes clear that the main characters might be standing right beside us – spectators, passers-by and people encountered by chance.

With virtuosic absurdity and warm humour, Murmuyo draws everyone into a whirlwind of unexpected events. Through laughter, human behaviour, unexpected courage and the comedy hidden within everyday city life gradually come into view.

Murmuyo uses the city itself as his stage, disrupting its ordinary rhythm through movement, mime and spontaneous encounters with passers-by. Through striking visual scenes, unexpected actions and playful interactions, he invites audiences into an emotional journey filled with surprise, energy and joy.
