PERFORMANCE “LANGUAGES”

Performance “Languages” tells a story of a disturbing character on the brink of madness searching for a principle of certainty in a world that is deforming. During this search he invites us to question our conceptions of reality in a game of mirrors where everything and nothing is what it seems. Fantasy, metaphor, theater and normallity together on a chaotic journey.

PERFORMANCE: “ÁKRI”

Ákri is a self-ironic, bright, and unusual solo performance that warmly observes how we cope with change. The 22 steps of the staircase, worn and polished to a soft glow, serve as the axis along which the performance’s physical and dramaturgical arc moves. The acrobat’s physical and mental identity changes as they grow older. What happens during this transition? How do we ourselves react to similar changes within us?

The idea’s creator and acrobat, Manel Rosés Moretó, about the performance: “Ákri combines acrobatics with acting, clowning techniques, and while creating it, I asked myself questions: ‘How do we move from one place to another? Can we transform without stopping what we are doing?'”

“Circus for Climate” performance “Dandelion”

Sculptural scenography, the details of which allow objects to spin around their axis, roll, hover and collide with other equally energetic objects. “Oyun”, which means game in Turkish, is visual poetry. In Oyun, the juggler builds up a perfectly balanced structure, he creates his own space in the stage outlining the air and especially defying gravity while pursuing harmony among all the elements. “Oyun” is an unusual universe in which kitchen pots, spoons, kettles and other objects actively interact, resolving their relationships and seeking mutual harmony in them.

“Rollercoaster” by Wes Peden

“Rollercoaster” is a one-hour solo show by Wes Peden that uses ultra-modern, pop-punk juggling to talk about finding the balance between freedom and security
Surrounded by huge inflatable blue structures and accompanied by electro beats composed of distorted rollercoaster sounds, Peden performs original tricks inspired by rollercoasters and their high-tech seatbelts. A spinning plate ceremony becomes a celebration of the great rides of the past; an epic 3 ball disco juggling evokes the evolution of rollercoasters; a 4-meter transparent tube turns into a path around Wes’ body to make balls flow through loops, helixes, and corkscrews. Rollercoaster twists the stage rules to create a safe space to perform some of the most difficult and unique juggling ever done on stage!
