RE RĪGA!: 60 DEGREES OF SEPARATION. CAMILLE PAYCHA

Inspired by Stanley Milgram’s theory of six degrees of separation that anyone in the world may be only six handshakes away, Camille Paycha turns social theory into an intimate experiment in bodies, trust and shared space. A drummer on a rolling platform gives the room its pulse, while above her the acrobats work with aerial straps: one of the most demanding and elegant aerial disciplines, rarely seen at Rīgas Cirks in recent years. The audience is close enough to become part of the performance. Perhaps distance is not measured in degrees, but in the startling moment when “they” becomes “we”.
