Rīgas cirka skola aicina uz atvērto durvju dienu

Riga Circus School invites new participants to apply for the 2026/2027 school year classes in children’s and youth groups. Children born outside the European Union who are currently living or staying in Latvia are also encouraged to apply and will have the opportunity to participate in the project “Social Circus for the Integration of Third-Country National Children.”

Interested participants will be able to get acquainted with Riga Circus School at Zeļļu Street 25 and learn more about the training programme during the Open Day on 24 May from 11:00 to 14:00. During the Open Day, visitors will have the opportunity to meet the trainers, try different circus disciplines, and learn more about the classes, registration process, and the social circus project.

REGISTRATION IS CURRENTLY OPEN ONLY FOR NEW PARTICIPANTS IN WEEKDAY TRAINING GROUPS!
Current and new participants for weekend groups will be able to register starting from July.

In the classes, participants will develop physical fitness, coordination, balance, creativity, and collaboration skills under the guidance of professional trainers while learning various circus disciplines — floor and aerial acrobatics, juggling, balancing disciplines, and stage performance. The classes are intended both for children without previous experience and for those who already have basic skills in circus, dance, acrobatics, gymnastics, or other movement arts.

A special focus in the new school year will be placed on the social circus approach, where circus arts are used not only as a tool for creative and physical development, but also as a way to strengthen children’s self-confidence, sense of belonging, trust, and mutual cooperation. Social circus helps create a safe environment where children from different cultural backgrounds can meet as equal participants, collaborate, and express their experiences.

The project “Social Circus for the Integration of Third-Country National Children” will be implemented from 1 April 2026 until 30 September 2027. Its aim is to support the inclusion of third-country national children and their families into Latvian society through social circus practice and various extracurricular activities designed to introduce Latvian culture. During the project, 25 children aged 7 to 14 from third countries will join Riga Circus School classes. Together with peers, trainers, and professional artists, the children will also participate in a collaborative creative process resulting in the creation of a circus performance, which is planned to be presented to a wider audience in September 2027.

Project PMIF/13.3./2025/1/08 “Social Circus for the Integration of Third-Country National Children” is co-financed by the European Union and implemented from 1 April 2026 to 30 September 2027.
