A workshop for Baltic circus artists was available during  an “Acting for Climate” event organised by Estonian Circus Centre and The Big Wolf Company on August 20, 2022.

Travel bursaries were provided by “Grassroot – Baltic circus artists’ network” supported by  the Nordic-Baltic Mobility Programme for Culture.

“Acting for Climate” is a performing arts company working in the intersection between environmental activism and arts, including contemporary circus, dance, and theater. They create and tour their own performances, and are a growing international network of people, artists and activists that nurture collaboration for sustainability.

Workshop combining climate activism, sustainable development and artistic expression included creative research, discussions, games as well as practical and theoretical exploration of the combination between climate activism and performing arts,

The aim of performing arts company Acting for Climate is to use art to inspire people to act for a more sustainable future. Through their performances and workshops, they hope to support the rising creative climate wave, connect, and share. The participants got an insight in how the company works creatively with climate related issues, their methods for creative activism and artistic exploration on the issues. Building on the strength of each participant’s artistic expression, they hope to support and kick-start new projects related to environmentalism.
