About the masterclass
In the frameworks of the festival “Re Riga!” a master class “Young stage” for future performing arts professionals will be held on August 17–20 at the Riga Circus School and the Rigas cirks. Master class is planned for three days and it is expected that the topic of the master class is the direction of the creative process, or the artist as an individuality and creator.
About the mentor
Master class leader: Igor Ivashchenko a.k.a. MimiRichi is the executive producer and actor of the circus company MimiRichi. He has been a lector at the Kyiv Municipal Variete and the Academy of Circus Arts. MimiRichi will work individually with each participant, setting each a task, for example, working on the dramaturgy of the performance, creating a stage image or any other area of development necessary for the young artist to improve specific performances. At the end of the master class, a performance of all participants is planned in the renovated Rigas cirks arena.
Audience
Emerging circus artists aged ~18-20 who want to expand their creative experience. Participating in a master class provides a creative impulse in building a career, as well as an opportunity to get acquainted with participants of a similar age and artistic development, which means a wider circle of contacts and possible formation of new collaborations.
