Myrto Petrochilou – at Rīgas cirks residency programme

We are happy to welcome at Rīgas cirks residency programme Myrto Petrochilou – a dance and circus artist from Greece. Myrto will work together with Daphne Tsiouni (music composition and live performance) and Florentia Chatzis (graphic design and visuals). The “project [9]” focuses on how space, objects and movement collaborate in order to create conditions for the formation of new realities. Shortlisted circusnext 2020-2021, project co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union”

Inspired and motivated by movement Myrto is a multidisciplinary performer using her qualities and skills as tools for creation and constant development. She is a graduate of the National Centre for Circus Arts, London (Degree in Circus Arts) the Professional Dance school of Rallou Manou, Athens (BA in Dance) and City University of London (MA Cultural Policy & Management). Her artistic research focuses on the meeting points between circus and dance, and the combination of aerial and ground movement, through the paths of improvisation. Her teaching and workshops centre on movement improvisation with object & aerial improvisation, addressed to people who wish to explore and extend their movement boundaries.
