This will be an opportunity for us together to get to know circus, dance and theater techniques, to participate in discussions about climate change issues, and to learn more about the possible solutions, as well as to experience how the participants’ creative ideas turn into a circus performance!
- In the laboratories you can expect walks in nature with mind and body exercises, physical movement, such as group or dance acrobatics and games.
- We will also learn more about what contemporary circus is, through watching performances, talking with circus artists as well as participating in other creative tasks.
- We will also talk and share more information about activism, not only how it works in other countries, but also, with a guest lecturer, we will learn how youth activism works in Latvia.
All this will bring us together to create for a more sustainable future!
The laboratories will be led by contemporary circus and dance artists from “Acting for Climate” (Norway): Amund Bentsen, Emma Langmoen, Abigael Winsvold and Michele De Riu – together with circus and dance artists from Latvia: Aleksey Smolov, Alise Bokaldere and Maija Sukute, who will be joined by the Latvian composer Kaspars Kurdeko.
Rules for application:
In order to apply we kindly ask you to create a short video in English (no longer than 90sec) that shows your interest in the issues/solutions of climate change to show us your motivation for participating in one of the laboratories.
