The story told by Anna Armand will appeal to all cat lovers. In the 1970s together with her husband she started to train cats professionally, what was something unprecedented not only in the Soviet Union but in the world at that time, and since then she has performed worldwide with her four-legged artists. As the one who knows cat psychology and refers to herself as “the cats’ mom”, Anna is eager to share her stories and experience.
Anna Armand started out in the circus as an acrobat. Aged 18, the girl with the unusual name found the circus in 1964 when she applied for the audition for the circus troupe Riga. In the conversation, Anna remembers her first impressions of how exhilarating this experience was to her. Anna performed her first circus act in Almaty, showing acrobatic tricks on a trampoline. She has travelled much and visited many places in the world in her life, including South Africa, Germany, Poland, Denmark and others. Anna and her cat troupe have been highly recognised for their achievements.
