Rigas cirks is a multifunctional arts centre rich in traditions and it fosters development and accessibility of the professional contemporary circus field. Our main mission is to promote contemporary artistic practices mainly focusing on circus development in Latvia and in the Baltic region. Conference “Roots and Routes – Pathways in Circus Education”

On April 15–17, 2026 Rīgas cirks is organizing the 3rd Riga International Conference on Circus Education in conjunction with FEDEC Spring Talks.

The conference is an international event in circus education held in Riga every four years, bringing together Baltic and European performing arts professionals: formal and non-formal educators, artists, producers, and cultural education policy-makers. The theme of the 2026 conference is “Roots and Routes – Pathways in Circus Education”, focusing on the development pathways of contemporary circus arts education and examining the tension and interplay between established educational structures and alternative, hybrid models of professional development.

The conference will feature three parallel tracks: a FEDEC members’ programme on April 15–16, an open programme for all audiences on April 17, and a children’s programme on April 15–16.

The conference will be held in Rīgas cirks (Merkela Street 4)
Working language: English.

Rigas cirks launches a daily training space for professionals (for individual training only).
Location: Zeļļu street 25, Riga.
