Based in Riga, Latvia, the residency will host two artists or artist groups simultaneously in two separate spaces. During the residency, artists are expected to develop ideas for new creations.<\/p>\n<h3>APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS<\/h3>\n<p>Please submit the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A short written application (max. 3,600 characters) outlining who you are and the project you wish to develop during the residency. Please indicate your preferred working space \u2013 R\u012bgas cirks arena or premises of the Riga Circus School;<\/li>\n<li>Visual material (e.g. video footage, photographs, sketches) of the project or its concept \u2013 optional;<\/li>\n<li>Information on technical requirements;<\/li>\n<li>A portfolio of previous work \u2013 optional.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Please submit your application documents by 31 October 2026 via e-mail: <a href=\"&#109;&#x61;i&#108;&#x74;&#111;&#x3a;r&#101;&#x7a;i&#x64;&#x65;&#110;&#x63;e&#115;&#x40;c&#x69;&#x72;&#107;&#x73;&#46;&#108;&#x76;\">&#x72;&#x65;&#x7a;&#x69;&#x64;&#x65;&#x6e;&#x63;&#x65;&#x73;&#x40;&#x63;&#x69;&#x72;&#x6b;&#x73;&#x2e;&#x6c;&#x76;<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>WORKING SPACES<\/h3>\n<h4>Space 1 \u2013 R\u012bgas cirks arena<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Diameter: 11 m \/ frontal stage: up to 10 \u00d7 10 m<\/li>\n<li>Height: 11.65 m<\/li>\n<li>76 rigging points and floor anchor points<\/li>\n<li>Shared kitchen, dressing room, and showers<\/li>\n<li>Technical support: rigging, lighting, and sound facilities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Space 2 \u2013 Riga Circus School (Sports Hall)<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Width: 7.4 m, Length: 21.1 m, Height: 5.1 m (4.6 m to the beam)<\/li>\n<li>9 rigging points, including 3 for vertical dance (no wall or floor anchors)<\/li>\n<li>Acrobatic mats, air track, landing mats<\/li>\n<li>Showers and changing rooms with lockers<\/li>\n<li>Shared lounge with tea\/coffee-making facilities and basic food-heating equipment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>WHAT WE OFFER<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>A dedicated space to develop your ideas and create new work;<\/li>\n<li>Technical support;<\/li>\n<li>A residency grant of EUR 400 per person;<\/li>\n<li>A daily allowance of EUR 35 per person;<\/li>\n<li>Travel costs covered up to EUR 300 per person (economy travel to\/from Riga);<\/li>\n<li>Accommodation in an apartment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>WHAT WE EXPECT<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>A presentation of the outcome, such as a work-in-progress showing, workshop, or artist talk;<\/li>\n<li>Credit to R\u012bgas cirks as a supporter in all communications related to the residency and the work developed during it;<\/li>\n<li>Should the performance be presented outside the framework of the residency at a later stage, the Artist agrees to offer a 50% discount for its presentation at an event organised by R\u012bgas cirks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>TERMS AND CONDITIONS<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Artists in residence must hold valid personal accident insurance covering both rehearsals and performances for all participants;<\/li>\n<li>Technical requirements should be specified in the application. Additional requests arising during the residency will be considered but cannot be guaranteed;<\/li>\n<li>It is not permitted to use materials or tools that may damage the premises or equipment or require additional cleaning (e.g. loose materials such as sand, incense, liquids).
