In the performance Runners, three artists meet on stage: two jugglers and one musician. The jugglers enter a loop of movement governed by the rhythm of running, repetition, and the laws of physics, while the musician accompanies and provokes their motion through sound, play, and experimentation.<\/p>\n

Children\u2019s Morning. Run Away with the Circus. Riga\u2019s Smallest Circus (LV)<\/a><\/h3>\n

Six young artists meet in the circus arena to explore, by looking back at circus history and sharing their personal experiences, why running away with the circus is still so tempting today. Circus is not just tricks and laughter \u2014 it is a place to learn how to be together, trust one another, and believe in yourself. Even more so, it is a place where everyone can become part of a larger story, even if they feel different. Run Away with the Circus takes audiences into the colourful world of the circus while also revealing its unseen side, where courage and persistence are present at every step.<\/p>\n

How a Spiral Works. Art for Rainy Days (LV,LT,UK)<\/a><\/h3>\n

A dancer, an aerial acrobat, a dramaturg, and a rope come together in a shared exploration of rotation, bringing together the disciplines of dance, aerial acrobatics, and hair hanging. Everyone here is connected, influencing one another. Two must become one. Spir\u0101le (How a Spiral Works) is an invitation to slow down. The meditative nature of the performance challenges the constant rush of everyday life.<\/p>\n

Common Ground. Common Ground (BE,DE)<\/a><\/h3>\n

Common Ground is an inspiring circus performance that centres on attention, listening, and a sense of togetherness. The show pushes boundaries on every level \u2014 conceptually, by questioning lives confined to rigid frameworks, and technically, through a wide range of circus disciplines. Partner acrobatics, aerial trapeze, and Chinese pole are combined with a strong theatrical presence. By actively involving the audience in the creation of the performance, the artists also search for a shared starting point with them.<\/p>\n

Circus Unleashed. Riga Circus School Performance (LV)<\/a><\/h3>\n

In the performance \u201cCircus Unleashed,\u201d students and trainers of the Riga Circus School embark on a shared camp adventure, where, surrounded by nature and under a starry sky, they create a performance\u2014approaching the magical wonder of creation.<\/p>\n

Play Dead. People Watching (CA)<\/a><\/h3>\n

Set in a space filled with everyday objects and accidental memories, Play Dead by the company People Watching explores the strange and comically fragile aspects of human behaviour. Through movement, body dynamics, and unusual visual solutions, the performance unfolds into a surreal story about the familiar. With warm irony and a keen eye, it observes the people around us and sees them anew.
\nPlay Dead resists routine. It searches for wonder in the ordinary, allows the everyday to shine, and celebrates life by fully sharing and experiencing it together. It lives through every moment and dances quite literally through every second of the party\u2019s final song.<\/p>\n

Elephant. Circus FahrAwaY (CH)<\/a><\/h3>\n

As part of the European Night of Circus, Riga Circus will host the collective Circus FahrAwaY with the family-friendly performance \u201cElephant.\u201d<\/p>\n

The elephant\u2019s time in the circus has passed. Yet this kind-hearted and absurdly large giant embodies the bold spirit of the circus. The performance \u201cElephant\u201d is also big, unusual, raw, and a little risky\u2014while at the same time refined, gentle, and graceful.
