MORE ABOUT THE PROJECT<\/h3>\n

Inventory, analysis and evaluation of the documents and materials available in the archives of the Riga Circus led to the idea of \u200b\u200bthis project. As the Riga Circus is
\ncurrently undergoing considerable change leading towards a new model of operation, it is the right time to explore and evaluate the existing heritage and establish
\ncontemporary cultural values \u200b\u200bbased on it. So far the extended activities of the Riga Circus have not been summarised in a single resource, therefore a new study on this
\ndiscipline of art, accompanied by copious audio and visual materials that can be accessible to the general public, will greatly contribute to the research and documentation of the history of Latvian performing arts.<\/p>\n

This project of Latvia\u2019s Centenary will consist of three stages:
\n1) Inventory of the collection of historic materials of the Riga Circus and
\ndocumentation of audio narratives \u2013 December 2018.
\n2) Creation of the digital exposition \u2013 until December 2019.
\n3) Establishment of an interactive exhibition on the history of the Riga Circus is
\nplanned in the future.<\/p>\n

The project is implemented by:
\nThe project Stories of the Riga Circus is created by the Riga Circus. The documentation of recorded narratives began in partnership with the Scientific
\nResearch Centre of the Latvian Academy of Culture under the guidance of Agnese Treimane, a research assistant at the Scientific Research Centre of the LAC and
\nstudents, namely, Marita San\u017earevska, students of Sociology and Management of Culture Elv\u012bra Avota and Ren\u0101te Saul\u012bte, and Bachelor of Arts Lauma Vitola. The
\ninterviews were edited by M\u0101ra Rozenberga, a senior correspondent at the Latvian Radio, and a sound engineer Ren\u0101rs \u0160teimanis.<\/p>\n
