Circus company Svalbard from Sweden will take part in Riga Circus residency program and will work on their project about site-specific concept cabaret performance in Riga Circus this May.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

During the residency Svalbard Company<\/a> is going to work on a site-specific cabaret project,\u00a0developing the idea of creating a ground and methods on co-acceptance as co-existence\u00a0between different human universes. Artists are interested and curious to see further within the\u00a0line that draws between audience and artist, meaning inclusive tendencies more than a\u00a0separation between the taboo of spectator and the executor, as well as exploring physical\u00a0possibilities of interaction, and how our physicality reflects on the emotions that run through\u00a0us.<\/p>\n

To develop the show the artists are going to use zero waste approach \u2013 they will use materials\u00a0what the surrounding environment offers, investing in the project with presence, dialogue,\u00a0exchange, creative tools, as also trusting the synchronicity of here and now.<\/p>\n

The concept of residency project<\/h3>\n

By using tools within the manners picked from the field of circus, performance, architecture\u00a0and painting, Svalbard is going to apply experimental method towards developing a ground\u00a0for a site-specific cabaret concept. The part of the Svalbard research is related to the\u00a0relationship between the spatial\/experiential components and an artist \u2013 how the space\u00a0influences the thickness of artists\u2019 bodies, how this reflects on their action, movement\u00a0qualities, confidence.<\/p>\n
