We are happy to announce the release of the book \u201cGreen Journey\u201d, created by the team and participants of \u201cCircus for Climate\u201d in the aesthetics and style of a comic strip.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The book, like the performance DANDELION, is the outcome of this \u201cCircus for Climate\u201d multidisciplinary project, which –\u00a0 in this case through visual art – allowed young people to express the ideas important to them in the field of climate change.<\/p>\n

The comic is a collaboration of young people who joined the first created lab and the artists Ingr\u012bda Pi\u010duk\u0101ne and Vivianna Maria Sta\u0146islavska.<\/p>\n

During the laboratory, the young people drew, crafted collages and created zines about the environment and activism. Inspired by feedback gathered also from participants of other labs, the comic artists transformed the gathered content into the story “Green Journey”, in which the young woman Jeanette and her plastic bottle set on a journey, look in to and solve various environmental problems.<\/p>\n

Participants of the laboratory who participated in the creation of visual content: Agnese Leit\u0101ne, Dagnija Poliakevi\u010da, Evel\u012bna Akmene, Just\u012bne O\u0161\u010denkova, Keita Fr\u012bdmane, Keita Ulas, Kristers Ozols, Loreta Linna Nikolajeva, Loreta \u0160\u010derbicka, Luize L\u0101\u010dpl\u0113se, Viktorija Nagle.<\/p>\n

The storybook is brought to life by the augmented reality videos that feature artists involved in the project. Augmented reality video can be viewed by scanning a QR code. The producer of the videos is M\u0101ris Lagzdi\u0146\u0161, music composed by Kaspars Kurdeko.<\/p>\n

The book will be officially opened in a presentation event after the performance “Dandelion” on May 19 and 20.<\/p>\n

The creative laboratory dedicated to the visual art of the “Circus for Climate” project took place from July 2022 in G\u0101rsene castle, J\u0113kabpils district, and 11 young people aged 13 to 16 from J\u0113kabpils, Ludza and Bauska participated in it.<\/p>\n

“Green Journey” is also available in digital version here<\/a>\u00a0(in Latvian only).<\/p>\n

The project has been created with the support of the European Economic Area (EEA) Grants Financial Mechanism funding period 2014. \u2013 2021. program \u201cLocal Development, Poverty Reduction, and Cultural Cooperation\u201d open call \u201cSupport for the Creation of Professional Art and Cultural Products for Children and Youth\u201d.<\/p>\n
