The extremely physical show of a solo acrobat plays with the laws of physics until they bend and one can break free from their grasp. Through wordless acrobatic\u00a0 movement the essence of humanity is altered, the individual is cut into layers\u00a0 and imagined anew.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0 Sci-Fi\u00a0 inspired\u00a0 O\u2019DD\u00a0 premiered\u00a0 in\u00a0 the\u00a0 Espoo\u00a0 City\u00a0 Theatre\u00a0 in\u00a0 2020.\u00a0 The\u00a0 show\u00a0 is\u00a0 \u00a0a\u00a0 50-minute\u00a0 spectacle\u00a0 for\u00a0 teens\u00a0 and\u00a0 Dahlberg, drew inspiration from books\u00a0 and\u00a0 movies\u00a0 of\u00a0 Science-Fiction\u00a0 and\u00a0 their\u00a0 imaginative\u00a0 abstract\u00a0 stories\u00a0 and\u00a0 scenarios. Rauli felt that there should be no limitations to the stories that could be told\u00a0through circus and started working on O\u2019DD already in 2012 through acrobatic experimentation and writing the script and themes of human growth on personal\u00a0and universal level.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The naked body that is seen on the stage at the very beginning of the show, is a symbol of birth \u2013 a new start for both, a man, and civilization.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>On stage Dahlberg shows his skills with several unique props, his wizardry on the trampoline and the vigorous feats on acrobatic balls. He is joined by musician, and pioneer\u00a0 of live-looping, Miro Mantere, who\u2019s compositions and several self-made instruments create\u00a0 an\u00a0 atmospheric\u00a0 soundscape\u00a0 with\u00a0 room\u00a0 for\u00a0 improvisation\u00a0 and\u00a0 interaction\u00a0 for \u00a0both\u00a0 artists.\u00a0 Dahlberg\u00a0 also\u00a0 collaborated\u00a0 with\u00a0 award\u00a0 winning\u00a0 choreographer\u00a0 Jarkko Mandelin on the specific blend and quality of movement from the worlds of circus and\u00a0dance. The audiovisual spectacle is completed by the lighting design of\u00a0Jere M\u00f6nkk\u00f6nen.<\/p>\n<h3>Race Horse Company<\/h3>\n<p>Uncompromising contemporary circus\u00a0Race\u00a0 Horse\u00a0 Company\u00a0 was\u00a0 born\u00a0 in\u00a0 2008\u00a0 out\u00a0 of\u00a0 need\u00a0 to\u00a0 create\u00a0 uncompromising\u00a0 and\u00a0 \u00a0unique circus with no holds barred. The rough-and-ready performances are based on\u00a0 strong acrobatic skills, the aesthetics of chaos, dark humour and surprise. Balancing the real sense of danger with comedic relief, the extremely physical\u00a0 acrobatic shows have left a huge mark in the world of contemporary circus. Since the very\u00a0 beginning,\u00a0 Race\u00a0 Horse\u00a0 Company\u00a0 has\u00a0 focused\u00a0 on\u00a0 international\u00a0 touring\u00a0 with\u00a0 their \u00a0hit shows like Petit Mal and Super Sunday.
